The Davis family is proud of the record and accomplishments achieved over the past 73 years in our diversified businesses, including Real Estate, Oil and Gas, and Venture Capital holdings.
REAL ESTATE
Davis Bros. Holdings owns and/or controls 900,000+ SF of buildings, including 350,000+ SF of shopping center and/or retail space, 440,000 gross SF of industrial buildings, and 116,000+ SF of office space. In addition, Davis Bros. owns and/or controls approximately 12,000,000 SF of commercial land.
Davis Bros. has a history of success working on a full spectrum of shopping center/retail properties, including but not limited to renovations, adaptive re-use, straight-up developments, and complex acquisitions. We have the expertise to properly adhere to restrictions, operating covenants, and real estate intricacies that many developers avoid.
OIL & GAS — PROSPECT & PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
Davis Bros. and its affiliate company Davis Holdings are diversified independent oil and gas exploration and production companies. Although Davis Bros. was established in 1945, the family’s involvement in the petroleum industry has continued without interruption since 1924. The company maintains offices in Tulsa, Oklahoma and in Houston, Texas. Its activities are primarily concentrated in the central and western Oklahoma, West Texas, and the Texas Gulf Coast.
Davis Bros. and Davis Holdings have historically conducted its exploration activities in association with substantial corporate and sophisticated private investors. The company’s projects have ranged from single exploratory prospects to multi-year, multi-well programs. In its early days, exploratory programs were conducted on behalf of individual investors, concentrating in western Kansas.
MINERAL HOLDINGS
Complementing its other exploration activities, Davis Bros. owns and manages in excess of 500,000 gross acres and 87,000 net acres of mineral interests in 22 states. These acquisitions represent the entire mineral assets of The Alliance Life Insurance Company, Peoria, Illinois; The Central Standard Life Insurance Company, Chicago, Illinois; The Commerce Trust Bank, Kansas City, Missouri; The Wilbe Lumber Company, Des Moines, Iowa; and the interests of numerous individuals and estates. These mineral interests are primarily concentrated in the Peninsula Basin of West Texas, the Anadarko and Arkoma Basins, and the Smackover Provinces of Mississippi. Rather than operating its mineral assets as would a typical royalty company, the philosophy of Davis Bros. is not to grant leases on its minerals until it has first considered participating in the drilling of wells. This approach allows Davis Bros. to consider its proprietary minerals as paid-up leases, which hold potential for development as warranted.
Davis Bros. holds significant positions in the Scoop and Stack play in Oklahoma as well as the Wolfcamp play in West Texas. Total net mineral acreage in the Delaware Basin is approximately 10,000 net mineral acres.
VENTURE CAPITAL
For the past 29 years, Davis Bros. has been active in the venture capital industry. Investments have been made in companies involved in pipeline transportation, crude oil trucking, offshore servicing, gas gathering, gas compressor manufacturing, exploration and production, retail electricity, solar electricity usage measurements, and superconducting wire technology.
