Following Davis Bros. success at Lucky Leon Field and other field discoveries in the area, Davis Holdings, an affiliated company of Davis Bros., teamed with Pat Kelleher, an expert geologist in southeast Texas to form the Rose Joint Venture.

The joint venture partners, led by Davis Southern Operating Company as operator, purchased in excess of 150 miles of seismic data to explore an area in Tyler County known as Pat’s Ridge. In all, 50 were drilled resulting in 20 new field discoveries, and 7 seven dry holes resulting in approximately 3 – 4 million barrels of reserves.

Davis Southern Operating – Mills Bennett #1 was drilled as a new field discovery. It flowed at 90 BOPD with no water on 8/64” choke. The field name was Padgett Field. Six offset wells were drilled resulting in six pays across the field. Mills Bennett #1 is in original completion and producing 50 BOPD currently.

Davis Southern Operating – BP JR  #1 was drilled as a new field discovery. It flowed at 90 BOPD and 500 MCFD. To date, 180,000 BO and 500,000 MCFG have been produced from the #1 well. It is  producing (85?) BOPD currently.

Davis Southern Operating – BP Sittin on Go #1 was drilled as a new field discovery. Four successful offsets were drilled. The #1 well has 8 oil zones productive and has produced 178,000 BO from the original completion. It is producing 40 BOPD currently.

Davis Southern Operating – BP Honky Tonkin #1 was drilled as a new field discovery. The #1 well has 6 gas/oil zones productive. Initial completion was 120 BOPD and it has produced 67,000 BO from the original completion. It is producing 25 BOPD currently. One successful offset was drilled.

Davis Southern Operating – BP Cat’s Back was drilled as a new field discovery. The #1 well tested at 600 MCFD with no water on 8/64” choke. The well went to oil in 4 months. Two offsets were drilled and another is planned. Cumulative production is 125,000 BO and there are many zones behind pipe yet to be completed.

Davis Southern Operating – BP Good #1 was drilled as new field discovery. Good #1 has 8 zones productive. It has produced gas as a gas supply well for several years. One successful offset was drilled. It flowed 90 BOPD and 500 MCFD. 15,000 BO and 500,000 MCFG have been produced to date.

Davis Southern Operating – Carl ST  #1 was drilled as new field discovery. It tested at 102 BOPD with no water on 8/64” choke. The well had very bad cement job and had to be block squeezed. Cumulative production is 22,000 BO and the well will be re-completed to another better zone. Cement block squeeze will be done.

Davis Southern Operating – Real Deal was drilled as a new discovery field. Well #1 tested at 600 MCFD with no water on 8/64” choke. The well had 6 pay zones but they were gas. Cumulative production was therefore disappointing at 0.500 BCF.

Davis Southern Operating –16 Tons #1 was drilled as a new field discovery. The #1 well tested at 600 MCFPD with no water on 8/64” choke. Drilled one offset well. The field name was Sixteen Tons (Yegua 1-A) Field. Cumulative production was small as both wells had poor cement jobs.

Davis Southern Operating –BP Prime Beef #1 was drilled as a new field discovery with shows. However the well was our first dry hole in two years.

Davis Southern Operating – Rhino #1 was drilled as a new field discovery. This well had what appeared to be two oil zones, but unfortunately resulted in gas production. The well lacked a economic gas pipeline connection and is currently stranded gas.
